What to do about black plastic trim on the bottom?

So I'm finally getting to hand wash and wax my sho for the first time (stupid snow and cold) and am wondering how everyone treats the black plastic around the bottom? Do I wax it too? It took some real scrubbing to get it clean. And man is this thing a beast to hand wax I guess my sl spoiled me

Buy a few cans cause you'll love it and use a ton of it.

Aerospace 303 is my choice for anything rubber, plastic, or vinyl... Outlasts everything. Looks great. Developed for use on airplanes. A quart will last years.

I'm seriously considering having it painted all ready. I got it clean but it isn't staying that way. About to clean it again
