To the OP what buildate is your car??could be a bad batch of pads for that month period 11/12 because mine were replaced under warranty at 22k but did not look like a piece of well done spare rib,mine had more of a meduim well pigment with signs of the pad material shoing decomposition and deterioration,think this isolated issue might be more common than we all might think.  Z

There they are, boils & carbuncles and all!  Yikes!  How long was this car sitting on the lot before you bought it, BTW?

The info I got from the sales rep was only 4 months, but they keep all their cars indoors. It's a very small dealer that is very picky on their trade ins.

Yea, the plan is to bleed them out and see how the fluid looks throughout the system, and if that goes poorly than the info you included will get the plan "b" treatment.

I certainly agree with SHOdded because they do sit on the lot for quite sometime new or used,my previous 13 NON PP had a build date of 9/12 and it was purchased on 8/13 sitting god knows where.  Z

I have been asking around some of my coworkers and the majority say that they replace their pads once a year if not a tad sooner. I think the higher speeds mixed with faster and harder stopping pushes the American brakes quite a bit more than what they would get in the states. I am going to ask my neighbors to see what kind of maintenance cycle they do for their brakes. Germans do spend tons at their mechanics that's "fo sho"!

Yeah, have no clue on where it sat before the first buyer got it, but it did get shipped here, and now that you mention it, cars sit on those boats for about 2 months. The environment is very humid, my furniture had mold on it when we opened our crates...That poor car might have seen more hardships than I originally thought.

Its just the pads...i have a 1 ton work truck with a box on it...its constantly loaded...the oem ford brakes on the front lasted 60k...

I wouldnt say the driving is any harder in germany...have u ever seen a soccer mom in an suv or minivan or escalade go stop light to stop light?....i swear some people in america think its a race to see who can get to the next redlight the fastest...i mean u can already see the next redlight ahead and they take off all the same lol...

I would not worry as AJ mentioned,have seen so many cases of warped rotors on these cars and even brand new 15 SHO'S exhibiting rust on the rotors and not due to rainfall,just get yourself some good pads all around and enjoy the ride.  Z

Very true, it could just be my perception because I drive very much faster than what I did back in the US. I lived in Japan for 3 years before coming here too, and the speed limits there were so slow that I went to the complete opposite side of the spectrum lol their highway speeds topped at 70 kph in my area, my cars never got to see 100...

Agreed, read up on opinions about rotors and pads, got some EBCs coming for all four corners. Blew my modding budget for the year already and only 10 days in lol
