I took the SHO out to see what I could get out of it in the 1/4 stock. Last time I took it to the track, it was 1/8th mile, and best I ran was 9.053 @ 80 mph. The track was packed! There were GTRs everywhere, and my first race of the night was against a Lamborghini lol. I also raced a F-Body SS, C6 Vette, and a Chevy SS.

The Lambo Race - I ran a 13.8 @ 101 - 60ft was 2.153 / My Reaction time: .242 - His was 1.5 lol. He passed me around the 1k mark like a banshee. He ran 11.35 @ 135.XX mph

The F-body Race - I ran 13.8 @ 101 60ft was 2.1** - I don't know what he ran, but I treed the s*** out of him lol, and I made it to the finish first. I saw him run a 13.0 his next run, so I'm thinking when the SHO launched he had an "WTF" moment.

C5/6 Vette (I'm bad at telling them apart) - My worst run of the night. I ran 13.9 @ 101 - 60ft was 2.2 and my reaction was .445. He came around me on the big end.

Chevy SS - I ran my best of the night @ 13.7 @ 102 60ft - 2.1 Raction: .173 : I beat him, but he did have a passenger. I think that and my decent reaction time (I feel they were decent) Were the cause of me taking him.

Over all I had a blast!! I didn't care that I lost to the Lamborghini, it was AWESOME watching that things SCREAM by me on the big end. I absolutely can't wait to get this thing tuned!

My question is are my 60ft times bad? Is there a way to get better being stock, or is that pretty much what she is going to run?

I launch around 2.5k

Those are some descent expected times, probably need to play with the tire psi a bit and gradually lower them on every run because those 60' are crucial, also tires play an important role and removing the engine cover and mainly having a quarter of gas in the tank should help a bit with this crappy winter blend 93 octane gasoline, you also need to factor in the DA,also based on the mileage probably be a good idea to put some fresh PTU,RDU,TRANS fluids and plugs, glad you had a great time and enjoyed the SHO,here's a great link to get an inside perspective.  Z       http://www.dragtimes.com/Ford-Taurus-Timeslip-27615.html  :thumb:

Those a good times !
By the way, just picked my 13 SHO up last month. Hoping to get it to the track in the spring.
Run stock then add a few light mods and tune.   My wife and I love the car, and will be driving down to Dunedin next year, so gas mileage is somewhat of an issue.
I guess I will have to learn to keep my foot out of it when Im not at the track !    >:D

Yea, I didn't mess with the tire psi at all. I didn't feel like I was spinning, as there was no sound. The oil and PTU both have fresh fluids. I need to hit the tranny and rear diff soon. I was running with 1/4 tank of fuel as well. Does removing the engine cover help with heat soak? My last run of the night was my best. We had a lot of breaks, so it was usually about 30-45 min between each run. I am not sure what the DA's were. I will check out that link as well. Thanks for the advice!

Hehe, I bought mine in October. I average about 20mpg around town, and I got 28 driving to Legoland with the family yesterday. It's hard to keep your foot out of it lol, but I have managed to do pretty good. I just know I am going to beat on it at the track here and there, so I give it the easy life on the street. Now, I'm not saying I don't have the occasional launch at a stop light lol.

Nice against that SS.  I have a friend that recently picked up a G8 that wants to run.  I've been hesitant to try but I think now that I'm tuned I'll give it a shot.

Only G8 I've lost to was one with about 15k invested in the build...he got me by a couple hundredths. Should be a good race, but you should have him.

Optimally, Chevy SS's are 3/4 sec faster than our SHO. But AWD makes our SHO's dramatically more consistent, proven by your win. And an extra passenger would've only slowed the SS 1-2 tenths.

I launch around 2.5k

The single time I ran my non PP SHO (100% bone stock right down to tire pressure), I simply brake revved it with TC off and got this:

Track Corrected Density Altitude - 1434
60ft - 2.084
330 - 5.804
660 - 8.891@81.88 mph
1000 - 11.55
1/4 - 13.792@100.48 mph

The bone stock SS driver was probably elated to have almost beat a modded SHO.

Some tune only SS's are running mid 12's ...
