Anyone installed the ATP upgraded turbos yet?  If so do you have to pull the engine to replace them? I haven't dove that deep under the hood yet.  Just curious on what I'm getting into.  :)

Nope, front turbo is super easy, unbolt and go, rear turbo unbolt and spin to get out, it's like a Tetris puzzle, you will have to unbolt the swaybar for additional room to make it easier.

Awesome!  Thanks for the quick reply.

You don't have to pull the engine for the rear turbo, but you do have to remove the front subframe per the manual.  I think the labor quoted at a dealership recently for turbo replacement was like 2 hrs for front and 6 hours for rear.  That's the book hours, not sure how long experienced mechanics would take.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

I was the 2nd EB owner to have installed the upgraded turbos from ATP.

Although Mike B. is correct about it being akin to Tetris, I would HIGHLY recommend lowering down the rear subframe and dropping it down just a tad (a tad, NOT a complete removal) in order to provide yourself some semblance of sanity while you're under there.

Not doing so, and simply twisting and turning etc. will likely gain you a whole 'nother level of curse word knowledge.

Lol. Good luck. They're worth it!

How many miles on the current turbos in the car?  If you're interested in getting rid of them, I might be interested in purchasing them assuming they're in working condition with no issues.

Problem with selling your stockers is you will have to pay a core charge of you don't send em to ATP.  They re work the stockers for the upgrade.
