Side view mirror is possessed

Anybody else have side view mirrors that act like they are possessed by a demon? Every once and awhile when I unlock my car my passenger side mirror will crank itself all the way up to the max and pop as it tries to move even farther then it's max range.
I am the only one who drives my car and I have set the memory to my FOB and the mirrors are never adjusted for other drivers but for some reason the mirror acts like it's position has been changed when I unlock the car.

If resetting the memory position (as outlined in the owner's guide) does not work, it is likely a failed potentiometer in the mirror mechanism and the mirror needs to be replaced.

If tuned: Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

It might be pricy to replace it, if anything, set the mirror to your liking, and if no one else drives the car, unplug the cable so it does not get power. Unless you want to replace it, or try resetting the ecm/battery first.

this makes me cringe at the thought of replacing some of the hi tech things we have post warranty . already done like 5 or 6 warranty repairs on the extended warranty looks like im gonna prepay for some of it breaking and get it extended as long as i can afford.
