So I literally just got off the phone with my local Houston ford service dept. and asked how much for them to service my PTU and the guy was like... "Is that part of your supercharger?" I'm like Noooooo!  I don't have a supercharger it's turbocharged! So he ask me to hold and attempted to bury the phone in his chest while he asked his coworkers what a PTU was. Then he comes back and says he has to put me on hold. A few minutes passes by and he comes back and says they never service them they only replace them. Is this normal ??? And am I really going to be stuck trying to figure out how to service it on my own via the links in the how to section?

A)  FORD dealer.  Mistake #1, unless they offer the BG service.
B)  Try a LINCOLN dealer, they are more familiar with the Ecoboost vehicles, and may offer to do it.
C)  Go to bgprod.com website and look up service centers that do driveline service.
D)  Really isn't that difficult to DIY as long as you have jackstands and/or a lift handy.  You should ask the 13+ owners (esp those with the PP package) how much more of a pain it is.

Bottom Line:  DIY.  Second best:  find a BG center near you to do it.
2007 Ford Edge SEL, Powerstop F/R Brake Kit, TXT LED 6000K Lo & Hi Beams, W16W LED Reverse Bulbs, 3BSpec 2.5w Map Lights, 5W Cree rear dome lights, 5W Cree cargo light, DTBL LED Taillights

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

The ford dealer and Lincoln dealer are together on the same property and use the same service center. I think I'll wait for my brother to come over from ft hood to help me with the diy project.

Manu is right.. Search through BG services.  My dealer won't do it as they become liable for PTU failures afterward. Since FMC says it's good for 100K miles that's a lot of liability.... Still some dealers will apparently do it... That's justa what my dealer SA explained when I asked.
