So I was researching our fuel pump and came across this.

Lots of interesting changes including....

Injector O rings upgraded to handle methanol...

The upgraded cam cover pcv assembly...

They changed the pump voltage max to enhance fuel pressure out of the HPFP...(funny story last night I got a wild hair and went for an hour drive after I added 4 gallons of corn to the 1.5 of E30 in my tank. )

Intercepter PTU added code to increase prime time from 10sec to 12 sec...

It's a long document but it has lots of cool info, calibrations, curb weights, loaded weights, etc.

Enjoy

Calibration change...

"Set parameter "Fuel_type_pri"  = 1 for gas, single fuel"

Huh, wonder what the other options are?

Nice find, FoMoCoSHO, interesting reading ...  Particularly, for me, pg 77 and 82+.  Those looking for updated part numbers will enjoy pg 88.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

I am curious:
because this is an application, was it approved?
how far can Ford deviate from the application during actual production?

Great stuff!  Thanks for sharing.  I'm wondering what voltage they are talking about though in relation to the high pressure fuel pump as it is mechanical and the maximum pressure would be determined by that not a raised voltage?  The ECU signal just controls the valve that regulates the pressure but that wouldn't allow for higher pressures...strange.

Probably trying to get more volume out of the LPFP so the HPFP and injectors are fed adequately.  Isn't that what the Boost A Pump mod does?

Unless through programming the fuel pump is artificially held below its mechanical limits (it is) and what the cam lobe will allow.

Our pump is good for 3k PSI, Ford locked it down to 2150

the amount of fuel
supplied into the high pressure fuel
system and an overpressure relief valve to
limit the maximum fuel pressure"

Since it's an EPA document, my guess would be primarily emissions related, which nowadays covers a VAST variety of equipment.  So that gives us insight into parts, part numbers, even specs sometimes.

If I remember correctly from the Q&A with the Chicago Assembly powertrain tech, is the F150 with the EB motor is able to run on E85.  They said the reason for the SHO isn't is just enough volume to justify the resources to do since out production numbers are low compared to the F150.  That might be what you are seeing.
