Facilities are ALWAYS a helluva capitol expenditure, relatively speaking. Also, expansions into distant locales, is usually inevitable for successful companies. However, they usually only expand into the areas with the highest demand and potential ROI. We're just making sure they know the great state of Texas has that demand.
Agreed....but comparatively to what we have around here, well, LOL!
I would say what they do is niche enough that the normal "models" of expansion don't always apply, unless of course you have a cloning machine that can reproduce guys like Mr Millen. His expertise aren't something you can reproduce with LEAN or Six Sigma concepts, it takes decades learning and real world application to do that and I feel that is where the biggest issue would be....assembling another world class team. Not that it couldn't be done, anything is possible. But it's a helluva gamble especially when by all accounts they are highly successful with clients from all over willing to drive or have their cars shipped to them.
That being said, Texas is definitely one to consider, hell I'd like to move there myself! Booming economy and historic car modding culture would make it a great candidate IMO.
