Hi Guys new to the forum but not the sho family. i have a 2010 sho  and after about a year of research i finally decided to get a tune. I went with unleashed and i got the flasher and tune files yesterday
( 93 performance
93 performance firm shift
93 performance firm shift Boost)

I have a 3 bar map sensor and motorcraft SP534 i want to install over the weekend.

My question is, should i add the tune files before i change the parts or vice versa?

MJESHO

Just recently did this myself..........map sensor & spark plugs go first.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

Hey kskrew4life...........you have to put the 2-bar map sensor back in when returning the car to stock like to take it to the dealership for warranty work.

You a big soccer fan???!!!

Welcome aboard.

A lower tstat is a wise choice if you run it to triple digits often.

Good luck on the modding, keep us posted.

Hey thanks for the suggestion.
which is better? i saw long debate between the 170 and 160 . would this require a new tune?

SHOdded

LME states that Ford tested the EB at 140F, so they developed the 160F TStat.  I don't have any hard data to point you to, but either one would be better than stock, just not sure how much one is better than the other.

Tune UPDATE definitely required to take advantage of the lower opening temp.

I picked up a 160* t-stat off  member on here. I have not put it in yet but seems like a good thing todo. I put a lower t-stat in my SRT Jeep and it made a world of difference on the engine temps.

I think this choice is more based on supporting your tuner...

Since I'm on a 3rd party warranty, do you think I would have to still swap it out for service? I don't think I will, but you never know. lol.

X2 AGREED,support your tuner and go with the Reische 170 stat that Torrie recommends, and make sure you have a revised tune for the 3-bar map,and stat, everything needs a tune with the exception of an exhaust and intake in order to get the most benefit from and best of luck and welcome aboard. Z

Well I would ALWAYS put the car back to stock when taking it to the dealer in case they decide to reflash it for some crazy reason.  In order to run the stock tune you HAVE to put the 2 bar back in so - yes - I would definitely swap it back out for service warranty or not.  It literally takes 30 seconds to swap it out.
