It's certainly not the most inviting news but the Mrs was relieved from the job after 16 years and certainly puts a burden on things and then some.

That sucks Z.

Part of the reason why I got out of the private sector so many years ago. Nearly 24 ago to be exact.

I saw 1st hand corporations all across the country letting senior employees go, most often with very little, if any, severance package. Just so disrespectful.

A person dedicates so much of their life to their employer, then w/o any notice..... BAM. Gone. Bye. Don't let the door hit you in the @$$ on the way out. Or even worse, they have you escorted off the property.

Makes me so mad. I've seen it more often than I ever care to acknowledge.

Thanks Manu and bpd1151.. It's certainly nice to have supportive members on board which lessens the tension a bit,but learned the hard way to be prepared to have a little nest egg to fall on...
It's quite upsetting and puts a damper on things but in the meantime will try to keep my chin up and hope for the best.  Z

bah,  that has been going around.  There closing my site as well for my career ... they claim i'm safe but that is until they can train up some other kid in another state and gift me a permanent vacation..
