Lol!
It is all pretty silly, really.
Back when the car was new, I thought my wife was slamming the door too hard and that was causing the double honk. Haha!

This is a funny thread. This no different if you try to lock doors with fob inside. Its a security feature.

Yes maybe it does or can draw attention to the car, but I would rather know than to find out after someone has drove off with my car.

Doesn't seem that this affects my car, (2011) but whenever I get out of car and leave it running, I use the fob to lock the doors. That would be my suggestion. If someone inside, not sure what all happens if door gets opened, but I assume nothing!
No its the opposite of trying to lock the doors with the fob inside. Its like telling you that your car is running and you forgot to leave the fob inside so that when they steal your car they can have the fob too. It is just annoying and I cant think of a single situation where someone would want this. If i get out of my car and leave it running I know d*** well i left it running and I don't need my neighbors to know that at 6 AM.

Can't think of a SINGLE situation? Here is when it has saved us. My wife and I will go into town together taking her ExSport (2014) her FOB is in her purse. I will be driving, and will drop her off at a store, and then go to Home Depot or whatever. If she forgets to give me the fob (its in her purse) and I don't have mine (I leave mine in my SHO)- it double honks, saving me from getting to my destination, turning the ExSport off and realizing...s*** no key!!!! So there you go - THAT is why I like the feature.... :)

Would you be opposed to having a way to turn it off for the roughly half of us who hate it? I know where my key is at all times, in my pocket and if someone needs to drop me off I know I need to give it to them.

Also does your fob work on your SHO and the X-Sport? If you can do that its kinda cool.

How about just getting they fob from your wife. Or putting the second fob for the xsport in your pocket on the way out the door. But I do see your point.

Yup that would be ideal...however being human that does not always happen because I hate carrying keys so I don't even carry a fob for the exsport.

Had a Taurus rental last year before I was familiar with the "keyless ignition". I opened the trunk with the FOB, shut the trunk, got in, started the engine, and the "Trunk Ajar" notice would be on. After the 3rd time I figured something strange was going on. So I decided to check the trunk and the 2nd key fob was in with the spare tire. LMAO

Guys, this is simple. Im not a big fan of the feature either but its a safety thing....
For those who leave their car running while getting fuel, running in to get beer, etc..... just shut off the car, get out (taking your key fob with you) and use your remote start to start it back up. The car runs keeping it nice and warm inside for you and or the family still inside. That way you dont have to worry about someone stealing your car while leaving it running

Someone find out how to stop it if modifying behavior is an unsatisfactory solution.  Otherwise let it go and complaint to Ford.

Yeah, I just traded into this issue.

Owners manual indicates you can disable by not exceeding 3ft and entering your keypad code before walking away.

ZSHO

From my understanding the 13 SHO will sound the double honk sound only if someone exits the vehicle before the driver does while shutting off the vehicle,on 14+ SHO the double honk will sound only if walking away from the vehicle while its running with key fob in pocket.Z
