Hey guys, I just wanted to make sure my installation goes correctly. I have the 3 bar map sensor and blank tuner yet to be programmed. Is it okay to install the map sensor prior to the tuning? I heard something about the car not being able to run properly if its in before the tune.

No point in installing the 3 bar until you have the tune inhand ready to load.  The PCM won't be able to make sense of the readings it gets from the 3 bar without the tune.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

That's what I thought but just wanted to make sure, thanks man!

If you are excited and would like to prepare yourself before getting your tune, you could benefit by making sure which exact map sensor to swap, its the one on top of the manifold.  http://www.ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=299.0;attach=6127;image

My car runs rough with the stock tune and 3 bar. Ran it idling for about 15 seconds when I did a reflash.  No CELs, but it was idling rough.   Wait to actually install the 3 bar until you are ready to load the 3 bar tune. Its a 3 minute job, so I guess if you wanted to practice, you could.

The  T Stat was a much bigger deal for me.

I get a CEL and a wrench symbol when I run the 3 bar MAP and stock tune. It puts your car in limp home mode. I would highly advise against doing that.
