Hi guys im new to tuning and i choose unleashed Tuning... i received the following 3 tune files from torrie

93 performance
93 performance firm shift
93 performance firm shift Boost     (all 3 bar tunes ) i should have requested a 2 bar tune t start with

can anyone tell me what the difference is between the 3? which is best to start with? are there any advantages to any specific file.

If you want the most power go with the 3rd (boost) others are explained in the name but do not push as much boost. I remember him doing a revision on my 93 to boost and it was great at the time.

what kind of extra boost are we talking in these and are they safe for daily driving to run the boost tune consistenly?

glock-coma

Stock boost numbers run 10-12 psi.  With an unleashed tune you typically see around 16 psi with a maintained 14.5-15

Not a very good question newbie....yeah it's pretty reliable to tune and run 15psi which is somewhere about 5 over stock....but don't cry when components don't last as long...I know that these cars will handle 365hp and 350 ft/lbs torque all day long

how is this not a very good question? yep, im a newb to all of this and we are talking about a 45k dollar car. id love to have more boost but wasnt sure if it was safe to daily. my foot nor my wifes foot is always in it hard while daily driving so i just wanted to ask and figured this was a place someone could answer and not give me grief about asking.. guess not....

Anything over stock parameters will shorten the lifespan of all components involved. A much more strict maintenance regimen is highly recommended.

Torries tunes are pretty safe with many happy high mileage tuned vehicles on the roads.

Be sure to datalog/monitor your cars performance regularly to spot any issues before they become repairs.

I run the most aggressive Livernois tune with no issues, but a very high rate of fluid changes and monitoring is required for these forced induction direct injection beasts.

i plan on swapping over to royal purple for motor oil or also mobile 1 extended performance which is what my last sho used with no issues. how often and what other fluids should be watched and swapped out how often?

I'd suggest using Amsoil, I sell this also.

But, PTU is a major concern in these cars with a 15k interval as a consensus for changes on tuned applications, I base oil changes off of how hard I drive it...if I take it to the dragway or road course it, oil gets changed. Rear diff & Trans would be about the 60k interval, but I do them at half that.

Checking your CAC (intercooler) for fluid buildup is wise thing to do also...10k checks here, along with cleaning the MAP sensors.
