I've just noticed yesterday when I cut my wheel to the left and only to the left, I get a slight squeaking notice from the steering column area...should I be concerned (might be a ball joint?) or is it just from the temps ranging from freezing to friggen cold?

We'll need more info...does it come from the inside of the car or outside, suspension area? Record the sound if possible.

Maybe one of your caliper covers is coming off?

Might need to jack up front and have someone turn wheels while you get next wheels to see/hear what's going on.

Scott to be honest with you could be so many variables causing this issue, first thing would start the car,and with the engine running turn the steering wheel all the way around and check to see if the left strut is dry or leaking, also could be weather related, have you had your car at the car wash recently?

Reproducible?  Maybe just needs a bit of extra foam in the column area.  Does the noise go away if you have the cover off at the time?

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

I recall a couple months ago after having the car reflashed at the dealer my steering column fell apart and was making a noise http://www.ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=4079.0;attach=5707;image

My steering column started squeaking a couple months ago when started to get cold. But since then it went away. But had persisted I would have been investigating the steering angle sensor.
