So I want to mount a tablet in my SHO for torque pro data logging .  I found a cheap Netbook tablet at walmart. It has the google play store, so getting the torque pro app should be easy.  Just wondering if the tablet choice is important to set this up i my car?  Any help will be great.

I have a pretty basic tablet, Samsung Tab2. Does great, little rough to read on certain light angles. Not to bad having tint all the way around. If I was to upgrade it'd be one with glare blocker. But see no need to.

I bought a Moto G on eBay for $38, mounted it to a Garmin suction cup and put it on the top of my windshield on top of the rear view mirror. I got a 12ft USB cable on Amazon for $6 and wired it through the headliner, down the driver side a pillar, down the dash, and into the console where I have a little 2port usb charger that plugs into the 12v outlet, The phone draws so little power so I'm not worried about it draining the battery.

Here's one from when I had an older android phone. I was able to put the Moto g higher up so it doesn't block the rear view mirror because the charge port is on the bottom, not on the side like this old phone. Have my 9500ix handing from the rear view mirror post

Is dash command a good program to use? I can get that on my iPhone. Or my buddy was gonna sell me a galaxy tablet. I also found this one that looks like it supports torque pid files.. It's called engine link

Can you enter custom PIDs in Dash Command by chance?

I also have an iPhone and have done some playing with both EngineLink and Forscan lite.

Engine link does allow for custom pids but they don't always work.  In particular I haven't gotten tire pressures to work or fuel rail pressure.

Forscan Lite doesn't allow custom PIDs but has a more extensive list of pids loaded and does show me data for tire pressures and fuel rail.

What PIDs are you looking to access?
