Tire wear pattern

I don't know if my dealer rotated my tires when i went in for an oil change but the center of the front tires are wearing more than the sides. Is this normal on these cars? I have only owned RWD before this so maybe FW dominant AWD will wear the center of the fronts faster than the sides? Also how many miles did you get out of yours stock Eagle F1's?

Its a good idea to rotate the tires every oil change,usually they recommend every 5,000-7,500 to have them rotated,personally have 17k on mine and have appt friday to install new tires,heard people getting 25-30k out of the F1'S depending on your driving,the wear pattern seems normal as long as its not inner wear,how many miles on your SHO?

Center tire wear is usually caused by excessive tire pressure.
Have you checked that yet?

I checked tire pressure when it started to get cold and it was fine. I just hit 10000 miles yesterday.

Tires the more often you rotate them the better the life expectency,the same goes for oil changes,check your service statement,should show exactly if rotation was performed with the oil change,should always obtain all performed work orders for future reference,make appt and show the service advisor your tires,or call him directly like i did and Emailed him pics of the tires,and take it from there.

What was the tire pressure reading you got, and did you check it after the tires had cooled off?  It is possible that if you are at the upper limits when cold, that when driving around the pressure increases enough to cause center wear.  I would check immediately before and after a normal drive to see how high it gets.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

i have complained about the same thing on other threads that the goodyears i had did the same exact thing & i watched the air pressure & rotated regularly & they were in bad shape in middle at 23k miles. then bought my friend ' 09 r/t challenger & it had same tires & at 23k they where the same way & he babied his like i do. as i said earlier that if goodyears blimp was like these tires it would have crashed. replaced w/ conti dws, not enough miles to tell wear pattern, but from the beginning a better tire than the goodyears ever were.

Just rolled over 70k miles and just started on my 3rd set of tires. Kept the eagle F1 Supercar. So roughly 35k out of each set. Can't say that I've experienced middle wear issues though.

Never inflate your tire by what it says on side wall. That max inflation pressure alway refer to owners manual or the sticker inside your door.

Tires were inflated to the pressure recomended on the inside of the door on a 55 degree day after sitting for half an hour. It's not like there really bad it is just they are definitely wearing at the center which is what I expect from the rear tires, at least on an rwd.

Can you put up a pic or two?  Might be better able to figure out what's going on.  But it would seem that from typical user experience, you are close to midway through the life of the tires.

mine were same as sun, never over inflated, always what door said & middle was shot at 23k. i'm sorry but glad that i finally am not the lone ranger on the goodyears. frustrating part for me was not only my challengers the same, but my old beater a '02 stratus had the same tire from the factory & they did same thing although they made it to 28k.
