I am in the market to order catted DP's. I have decided to get either PPE or Livernois. I really am considering the Livernois since I have got their tune.

On the Livernois sight it is showing the weight at 110lbs.

The PPE DP's are showing the weight at 30lbs.

Can someone please clarify if there is that much difference in the weight between these two?

I ordered both and the Corsa exhaust is right under 100lb and the DP'S are closer to the 35lb pound mark, hope this helps and good luck with everything and relax and enjoy.

I got the PPE cause I wanted ceramic coated pipes..

The Livernois DP's are not that heavy there is an error on thier site they still have not fixed, it also calculated an astronomical shipping charge LOL. If you call them they can take care of it though and provide you accurate pricing. They say thier DP's offer a little more performace as they are not quite as restrictive as the PPE DP's thought the PPE will not cause a cell on an untuned car and thiers will....

No one's DPs weigh 110#..... Must be a typo.

I have PPE 'cuz I also wanted ceramic coated.... Looks only.... No dyno changes or temp changes.

However., IMHO... Don't worry about weight... You're talking literally a couple of pounds.  At some point lighter means durability suffers as does exhaust note.

Your car will go much quicker on the low end.... Regardless of brand..... Be sure to adjust your tune for the change in back pressure and earlier turbo spooling for even more fun than the improvement they give to stock.

Thanks for the feedback. I figured it was an error, just want confirmation. yeah I will definately have the tune for it. I am going to go with the colder thermastat too. Are the DP's something that can be done with jacks in the garage, or is a lift mandatory?

TooFast4SHO

It is a pita on the rear side of the motor with the o2 sensor and everything, I am sure you could do it on stands but I would rather use a lift for sure. Around here there are shops that do rentable bays with tools and lifts to DIY maybe there are in your area as well.

I did it twice on my car and take my advice and put the car on the LIFT,you are going to need more than several tools, one of them is a prybar and you are going to need lots of room and leverage to really get in there to remove and install the DP'S and good luck.

Sounds like a lot of fun!! I have a neighbor with a lift and proper tools. Hopefully can talk him into a little project. LOL!!

Done it on this car 3 times... You want a lift and the other recs below.... But get/make/borrow a special wrench for the O2 sensors to avoid breakage.  They will likely be VERY tight... And they are in an awkward place, check out my thread in the How to's for pics of the install.
