Quote from: ajpturbo on September 10, 2015, 11:31:59 PMThe log looked ok. Knock activity was good. I suspect that was a preliminary log. The throttle will open eventually but if it fluctuates don't worry about it. I suspect you also will be getting more boost as torrie dials the car in.

You don't have to stop the log as soon as you are done pulling....Let it go until it's easy for you to stop it...It's easy to find the section of WOT and zoom in on it. You can start it sooner also...Go ahead and let it pull 1st through whatever...The more data the better...You didn't really start until 4k in 3rd and barely got into 4th.

She is barely breaking a sweat yet

That's why I said janky log, i was in traffic, yea i'm that guy. When I was tuning I really only wanted a solid WOT in 4th from ~3-6k.  It made it easier to see with out the shifting of gears and such.  I'm sure Torrie sees it all.  As far as boost goes, there are some spots where im over 90% WGD, those little turbos are about maxed there for sure.

Your wastegate duty was actually very low during ur wot....40-50 or so...for some reason the wastegates are held shut during cruise and coast....u were nowhere near maxing out those turbos...your boost was relatively low during ur pull...

U said u only wanted the pull from 3k to 6 k?...why?..the more data the Bette the tune

Hmm, I see what you mean now.  Why in some spots do they look over worked, 90%+, then in others even with more boost look like they're on cruise control 60+%?

A good clean pull from say ~2500-6k in 4th would tell me everything i needed to know.  All the extra is unnecessary clutter to me.

I would only look at wategate duty during wot...it may keep them shut during cruise to minimize lag when u hit it..

2500k to 6k in 4th is will tell u a lot but not everything....what about shifting?...torque reductions, boost spikes, shift feel?

I'll admit this is different than what I'm used to, Cobb vs SCT, manual vs auto.  As far as throttle goes, what is the key one, there is TP relative vs absolute?  throttle angle actual vs desired? Also, in that parameter, whats indicative of the ECU equaling WOT?  I had the petal to the metal the whole time pretty much, aside maybe from very beginning and end.

Throttle angle actual..max value at wot will be 82..that is typical of most cars...possible for throttle blade to get stuck if they open to 90 degrees

I have a couple highway ramps I use that get me 0-100 safely with good LE visibility. Start the log preparing to get on, stop it when it is safe after the pull.

U will get used to sct..u are frustrated because u are out of ur element and going through the learning curve...sct may be guilty of not being user friendly to the novice user..I think the software is geared toward the professional...

The logging software and tuning software is a very powerful tool.

The ecoboost tuning is very complex add to that the car is a auto trans...a ton of parameters in the tune just for that..

I've used Cobb, uprev for Nissan, hondata for Honda, open source for subie....my problem with sct is there is too many things that u can adjust if u want

Sometimes u could modify a car so much outside of the normal things like exhaust and intake that a particular tuning software simply couldn't adjust for.....sct has enough adjustability that if u made a 3.5 ecoboost with a different crank and made a crazy stroker motors with race cams and stacks for intakes and deleted the turbo sct could tune the vehicle

I was really comfortable with my Honda software and used to wonder why sct was so difficult to work with them I realized how much more complete sct was

Yea, where i live now there is seldom a chance to log with all the traffic.  Where i used to live when self tuning my MS6 i would get a log or two even every day.

That was Torrie's sentiment, he couldn't have disagreed with me more when I made a Cobb vs SCT comment.  I just wish you could get the parameters i want all in one file and live monitor them at once for my own viewing pleasure.  I'm starting to get the hang of it.  I still think SCT should offer the software cheaper or even free like Cobb, it would make more sense to pay more for pro tuning not self tuning.

Looked pretty good. Are you worried about something?

Trust in Torrie lol

I tried to log in psi...I'm not sure why I couldn't...Maybe call SCT...I couldn't get it on the device or live link....I usually just log boost in KPA anyway.

Also not sure why you are so worried about starting and stopping the log right at WOT....let it go before and a little after...It's no big deal...When you view the log just deselect what you don't want to see then right click and hold and drag over the area to expand and zoom in..

The only think i'm worried about is maximum performance lol.  I know Torrie has it down pat.

Are you talking about when viewing in live link?  I haven't manipulated the logs much in there.
