Paddle shifters

I'm confused on the paddle shifters.  I have 13' SHO PP that is not tuned.  When I put the car in sport 'S' mode and us the paddle shifters, once gets close to approximately 5,000 rpms to 5,500 rmps, the car automatically shifts.  Am I doing something wrong?  I was trying to let the car red line before shifting but it will not let it happen. 
13 Platinum White, PP, 402A, Moonroof, Multi-contour seats, and Navigation.  MODS - LMS 93 octane 3bar tune, 160 LMS thermostat, Airaid CAI, 15% tint, interior LED upgrade, LED puddle lights, Nurburgring 20" Gloss Black Powercoated Rims, H&R springs, Corsa catback exhaust, LMS catted downpipes

Hmmm...I'm tuned with a 2011 PP but I thought the PP would let you hit the limiter...I know mine does and it won't shift it just bounces off the limiter...it's actually quite scary (and embarrassing) as the car will definitely let you know what you did.  I wouldn't recommend you do that on a regular basis though.  Perhaps someone with a 2013+ PP will chime in.

Once in a while it will bounce off the limiter other times it just shifts on it's own. Which is why I don't use them much. A few times I went to shift and the car decided at the same time to shift and I went from 1st to 3rd.

This happens to me every single time I attempt to drive aggressively with the paddles, so I flat out just don't do it anymore.
I have a 13 with PP, and it has never come close to over revving or meeting a limiter. The bastard just shifts!

Same here. It does the 1-3 to me. Quite annoying. It's faster if you just let it do it on its own. Only time I like them is for downshift.

^^2 - The will shift at the same time I shift and goes from 1-3.  Very annoying.

i wonder if this is a pp issue, my '10 no-pp although not tuned does not go from 1-3 with paddles. it lets me get up to limiter & if i hit it, engine kind of boggs down, so try to make sure shift before limiter.

The 2013s and newer are just programmed differently than the 2010-2012s.  As others have stated, the 2010-2012s will not upshift automatically when in the manual mode.  They will downshift but never upshift.

I actually like how it shifts for me in manual mode. That way I can drop it down a gear build boost then peddle through. the first to second shift is to quick for human interference.

Paddles on 13s are useless.  I only use mine to downshift in the mountains.  :'(

Agree...never use them unless I go to the mountain... I can get to just below redline with my right foot alone.

R u in 1st gear when this happens? And I think you have to be at WOT for it to go to redline. If not, I think it will shift on its own.
Is this only on the 13's? My 14 holds the gear until I shift it.

Not in sport mode since I don';t use the paddles... other than making the paddles operational, "S" only disables the automatic shift into 6th gear.

Unless you have a tune that changes for sport mode.

Sport mode defiantly does more then that.  The shift patterns seem to change and the throttle is more sensitive.
