Cool, some new age technology with some old school flavor

I vote Merkur given the choice, I've always like those

I've done a couple of powertrain swaps, it's easier if you have the whole donor car to pick parts off of. Also, I hope you're not in Cali, they are very unfriendly to swaps like this. I did a by the book swap 10+ years ago putting a 2.2 DOHC Turbo IROC RT motor into my 84 Dodge Rampage Trucklett (2.2 carbureted from factory)It runs way cleaner with the EFI and it's Been running great (almost 11's last time out

) I got pulled over 3 weeks ago for going 50 in a 35 zone, CHP made me pop the hood for suspected mods

He spotted the adjustable cam sprockets. I explained that the head had been milled extensively when some cracks were repaired and the adj gears were the only way to get timing back to stock 111/121 degree centerlines. He said NOT EMISSIONS COMPLIANT! And wrote me for it. Now I have to return motor to all stock big intercooler, custom downpipe, big hybrid turbo, AFPR and about a 100 other things the Burroe of Automotove Repair is not gonna let pass. Most likely, it's too much work to justify the process on that car and I'll just end up with a stock powerplant from another of the 2.2 Chrysler family. That's California for ya... Good luck with your swap!
