Mycal device---stock file question

I think stock file saving function is essential in tuning device

1.does Mycal device automatically save stock file into its memory when it is first plugged in(like SCT device dose)?  or do i have to save it manually with activating some setup menu like "saving stock file"menu?

2.can i access the saved stock file in Mycal device and save it into my computer folder(for safety)? and put it back to Mycal device memory whenever it is needed?

I want to flash my vehice back to stock when i go to ford official cervice center. That means i have to flash the ECU many times

3. Is there a limitation in number of switching back and forth between stock and tuned in Mycal device?

When I got my MyCal device from LMS it had the stock tune loaded on it already so I can go back to it when ever I want to.

i think stock file must be extracted from specific vehicle     preloaded stock file may not be a true "stock file"
Tuning device must have ability to extract stock file from connected vehicle  and store it into its memory   does Mycal device has this ability?  or do i must contact LMS for Stock file

and if anwer to question 2 is Yes, does it apply to the tune file? (can i save older version tune file(LMSV7) into my computer before updating Mycal device with newer version(LMSV8) tune file?   and can i put  older version tune file(LMSV7) back into Mycal device by myself (using my computer "without" the contact of LMS server)when i need it?

I posted this topic because i read some topic from bykr

I got my LMS tunes emailed today,installed them on the programmer and then installed the stage 4 tune.After installation on start up it ran very rough at approx. 1000rpm and would require the throttle to be open approx. 50% to increase rpm any.It also has the check engine engine light and the little wrench light in the instrument panel.I tried going back to the stock tune but no change.I think I'm going to try to disconnect/reconnect  the battery next.Any idea?I don't know if there's anyone at Livernois tomorrow either.

We just sent the OP an updated file, it definitely appears that we made a mistake on this, and apologize for that. the new files should be of the standard that is expected of us.

why didn't the stock tune work in case of bykr if it is extracted directed from his own vehicle?  because it was wrong stock file sent from LMS?
if Mycal device donot have ability to get stock file directly from connected vehicle and users must get stock file from LMS (whether it is preloaded to Mycal device or not)
it may cause problem

Ahhh. I went directly to them and didn't have to worry about any downloading. Bummer the set you received at first were wrong. I know they are very busy and that had to scare the crap outta you. I've went back to stock multiple time (alot) just to compare sounds of motor and performance in certain areas...no issues here...

We do load the stock tune files on the Mycal tuning device for all of the Ecoboost applications.  This way if tuning is ever interrupted the tuner is intelligent enough to force the vehicle back to stock the next time you connect the tuner.  We do save the image of the factory tune for the 2010-2012 Ecoboost vehicles as well, and we also include a stock backup if something does go wrong on those vehicles


The reason bykr had an issue with the original tune files we had sent was due to us keeping our customers up to date with the most current base file or "stock" tunes.  We always load the latest factory base file when we tune a vehicle just like the dealer would do if the vehicle went in for service.  In this specific case his vehicle did not want to be updated to the latest version of his strategy code so we had to back date him to his original strategy.  For instance on the F-150's if the customer's catch code is JGK4 we would update his vehicle to JGK8 which would be the manufacturer's most current strategy to date.
