Higher stall torque converter ?

Would our cars benefit from a higher stall torque converter?  Would the transmission handle it ?
Just a thought. ...

No.

Circle D developed one for Darreli & he LOST nearly .6 in the 1/4 as a result.

Attempts were made to offset the loss through tuning, but results were iffy at best.

Darrell kind of wished he directed the money elsewhere in retrospect

As it is, once the SHO is tuned (probably same for Flex, X, F150), the best launch rpm drops.  Higher stall = no help.

I got the LMS 4+, not the updated one, and I was launching at 2,000 to 2,200 rpm. Should I be launching at lower RPM's? If so, where should I be at?

Brad, you are in the right area for launch with the tune, closer to 2000 rpm has been reported as ideal for most.

NMB, talking about the SHO or the Stang?  What is your launch rpm, and what is the stall speed of your Circle D?  Dyno sheet?  1/2 second is fantastic.  How's your normal mpg look in daily driving?

No, talking the stangs.  No reason for converter on the ecoboost.  It leaves plenty hard enough for street tires.  Brake boost is your converter...

Tuner Boost

We are about 50% through development of a purpose built unit (not a restalled OEM like the others I have seen) and on similar applications were seeing .4-.5 sec gains in 1/4 mile times...60' is really improved.  Will post more as we near completion.

I had circle D fix the transmission on my Expedition a few months ago I've seen their place and work in person it's amazing. I figured if they can't do it then it couldn't be done !
2013 PP SHO LMS 93V10 tune, 170* T stat, 3bar, K&N drop in, plugs re-gapped, 4in exhaust tips.
UPDATE - 130K miles =blown engine. Unleashed tune and EBPP upgrade turbo billet wheels / Turbo Smart WGA's on a bran new long block. Let's get this SHO on the road !

Tuner Boost

Will do.  On a turbo car, if the converter is design properly it puts you into the sweet spot for boost and utilizes the torque band, you want it to bring you just below peak TQ RPM and the HP will carry you from there.  Getting one to be efficient enough is the challenge. As far as driveability it will lock up like stock, and if not "putting your foot in it" will act like near stock.
