I was talking to someone the other day and it was brought up that the F-150's have a 2.5 bar MAP on them from the factory. A 2.5 would be good for what...21...22 psi. So, the question I have is why aren't we using a 2.5 on our vehicles instead of the 3 bar? Our little turbo's run out of juice before the sensor would. Plus I believe they are cheaper than the 3 bar. Thoughts?

Don't know about the 2.5 BAR MAP... thought is was a 3 BAR, but I'm actually ignorant.

The 2 BAR can read and send info on a max of 14.7 psi boost to the ECU in the SHO.  Stock turbos can produce 1-3 psi more than this sustained and have spikes as all turbos.  The advantage proven in the 3 BAR over the 2 BAR MAP is being able to send this info to the ECM  so it can react appropriately and also it has been shown that it does so in smaller voltage increments allowing finer control and more precise tuning than the 2BAR does. In a 3BAR tune you also can have higher useable boost. I'm unaware of a price difference between the 2 and 3 BAR...

Is there any advantage to using a 2.5BAR?... dunno

I guess you would be assuming that the truck MAP is the same style as the cars then?
