I just picked up a 2011 Taurus SEL. I know it's not a SHO but maybe one day I'll work my way up there. Hopefully this is ok to post in the SHO Forum.

I wanted to do some aesthetic work on it before and I'm pretty handy with parts and stuff just not sure with so many ideas. Its a Stock Black on Black SEL. I'm thinking of chroming out the grille but I was also thinking maybe add a LED Halo in the headlights. But should I just change them to HIDs or both? Any ideas? LOL I'm excited and all over the place!

Skip the chrome grill, unless you want to pay a lot of money to make your ride look cheaper (they NEVER fit right). If anything black it out. Try it with plastidip first, if you don't like the look it just peels right off.

I'm not that big of a fan of chroming out. I've actually considered plastidipping the stock grille with a matte black and a gloss black combination. Thinking about doing something with the lights maybe open them up and black some of the chrome up and leave some. Maybe get rid of the outside amber plastic. Thoughts on this?

There are a number of things you could plastidip, other than that, I'm not sure. Tint your windows? Smoked lights? I personally haven't done anything to my exterior.

I was thinking about plastidipping the "razor" bars on the grill. I've never been a big fan of them on the Taurus or Explorer. Can this be done with the grill in place or am I looking at dis-assembling the front end to get to it? Any input and experiences with this is appreciated!

Many of the members here actually never even pulled their grill when they plastidipped, they pulled the black support over the grill and stuffed towels behind it so it wouldn't get all in the radiator though. I think its like 4 screws, real easy.I would dip the whole thing, and trust me on this one....mask off with blue tape the areas you don't want over spray on. Thick over spray comes off very easy, but the fine mist plasti dip can be a beeyotch to get off. It's easier to just over mask off a lot of stuff than to have to clean up a lot of it later.
