I was disappointed the new '15 Charger won't have AWD in the R/T trim. Only available on the V6, boo.
So, for $30K, you can get:
- 2013 Taurus SHO - Best value. No other car has the options and power.
- 2013 Charger R/T AWD - Similar options to the SHO, no turbo.
- 2013 Infiniti G37x (CPO) - Pretty blah. No turbo, no remote start, no cooled seats, no heated wheel, etc etc. Gotta bump up to M37x/56x for more options, but seem like grandpa cars.
- 2011 BMW 335xi (CPO) - Fast, tuneable, nice AWD system, awesome handling. Not a lot of options, not even a backup camera. $$ to maintain/repair. Small.
- 2011 Lexus IS350 AWD - Nice interior, exterior styling a little feminine for me. No turbo, small.
- 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD - Nice interior, nice AWD system. No turbo, no remote start.
- 2015 Subaru WRX Limited (New) - Tempting, awesome resale value, not a lot of options/luxury obviously.
- 2015 Audi A3 (New) - Base 1.8T. Might be able to get a 2.0T Quattro for low $30s. Small.
A lot of options. I have a lot of test driving to do. So far leaning towards a new WRX or a used 2013 SHO. The WRX will have to be really fun to drive to bypass all of the luxury and toys on the SHO.
Anyone raced a 335xi? I would think if both tuned, the 335xi will have a slight edge. I think they do 12.5 in the 1/4.
