Ok guys so I'm here at the muffler shop putting the catted dps. What are the benefits of the third cat delete ? Performance gain ? Sound ? I'm currently running stock exhaust .

You can delete for a little more power , but I'd go with some sort of mid x resonator or it will probably end up raspy if you replace with just straight piping.
Shoman04 has done this , I think using a magnaflow resonator that replaces the third cat / oem resonator .

Delete the cat if desired.... leave the resonator which is behind it.... folks who have done this like it.  Folks that deleted the resonator don't. no need to add any more per those that have done it.

I want to delete my third cat but I'm afraid of a stinky smell, and I really want non catted dp's eventually which would be too loud probably w/o the third cat - but I'm too cheap to buy them right now.

If you do go with non catted down pipes later and have no 3rd cat as well , you will definitely smell more out the exhaust and even more so if you try E85 blending .
DJE had noticed this as well with with his non catted downpipes and ended up putting the 3rd cat back on .

It didn't really bother me , I considered it the smell of Power .
Ethanol has a distinct smell to it .

southtx  I have a local build 2.5",x-pipes,LMS Catted-DP,WITH changeable mufflers stock/DynoMax. I love it!!! I MADE 405AWHP/417TQ w/METH (bpd before big turbos 402AWHP/420tq) So for a lot less money I'm making the same power. My changeable mufflers cost only $50 extra and I can go from stock quit to HotRod loud in less than 30mims. It makes road trips with wife real nice!!!

That's a great idea ! I'm sure the muffler shop can fab something up like this.

How are people eliminating the cels associated with this mod? Can you tune it to not be on or can you only use defoulers?

Deflulers do nothing on these cars....all in the tune...you can turn off the rear o2's but that wont help you ready the i/m monitors if you require them

The true bottle neck are the DP's,dont expect any sufficient gains.  Z
