Hi All
Has anyone seen any true benefit form installing the 160-170 thermostats
I am skeptical that thee is any benefit over the stock 180 thermostat
If anyone has definitive proof that it helped in any way I would like to hear about it

Its my opinion, they do make a difference. Lower coolant temps allows for more timing to be added. And of course you have to have your tune adjusted for the fans to come sooner. But any how thats my 2 cents I could tell the difference.

There are several threads with this info... folks see the engine running cooler...10-15 degrees even after heat saturated.  Also, since a cooler t-Stat stays open longer after shutdown of the engine it should cool quicker.

A turboed GDI engine runs better when it is cooler.
