DON'T buy Dynomax mufflers

Just a warning guys. DON'T buy these. Mine are less than a week old on the car, the exhaust tips are starting to form rust onto them. I called to see if they could do anything about it. NOPE, they aren't covered by warranty. I didn't take off the plastic covering them till I had them on the car. NOT HAPPY!!!

Weird... mine have been on for 25k miles and it snowed a good bit this winter, road salt and all.
They still look new... I just use polish compound to remove the soot.
Even the mufflers still look new, I painted em black when I installed em so they are less noticeable and even that has held up. Not even rust on the welds.

Cant speak so good about the magnaflow midmuffler I was using, its been on less time and when I removed it for a bare x last week it was rusting, not just the welds but the body.

What really ticks me off, I had Dynomax on my Green Gen2(92). I have a used set of JBA's on my black Gen3(98) and never had any issues like this.

Try cleaning them off with some polish. Maybe there is just some metal particles stuck to the chrome on the tips rusting and not the actual tip.

I had this same issue with mine...some polish took care of it right away and it didn't appear to be the actual surface rusting...I do have to say the tips look a little worse for the wear after a long corrosive winter in MN...hopefully they will polish right back up.

Try some Never Dull metal polish. I swear by it. As stated above, perhaps they need a good polish and the rust will not re-appear - hopefully.

tss has got this right, best stuff on market for cleaning chrome. a little hard to work with as have to tear pieces of off to use, but great stuff for hard to remove spots.

Actually Brian, I have Adam's Polish Metal Polish One and Two, they work great and unlike Never Dull it won't scratch the chrome, but it does a great job, you are welcome to use it anytime. Just let me know.

Neverdull is fine for chrome but not my fav, and I def wont use it on polished stainless or aluminum.
The tips arent chrome, they are polished ss.

Update. Put a post on Dynomax that I not happy about the tips showing rust. Amazing I got better response from there than there customer service. They had me take pics of the tips and send them to them. They are willing to replace the tips, but i asked them if the would fit the bill to have them welded back on. I would understand if they had been on a year or so and thru a winter with salt and crap on them, but only 1 week is the issue. Will let everyone know how it ends up.
