Right by that filter end in the fender is a hole, I would suggest they close up the box and seal it to the hole so you get only outside air.

Quote from: BiGMaC on April 12, 2014, 11:36:06 AMFastLane is working on the next, and unknown step in air induction... that saxophone snake thing... (I agree with that wholeheartedly).. but again, we'll need pre and post install testing to know... kudos to them if they do it. I agree.. it's a major step if the performance is proven!  I hope it does as I have a factory box being custom built in CF with two separate ceramic coated tubes to turbos)... I hope it works... but like you also wanted aesthetics and and for me sound control also as I don't want my SHO to sound like my wife's diesel personally  (you and I are both OC about how our engine bay looks... LOL)  I am not doing it for sales... and trying a few more ideas to keep the air colder in the design... more on that later.

^^I will be supplying another option for the intake system of this platform. It will come in 4 variations, of the variations there will be an option for a sealed factory box made of carbon fiber as BigMac mentioned above. Details will be out in the following week or two.

NO teasers allowed .... come on give us a little more !

Is the OEM plastic crap replaced with quality metal  tubing and components ?

I'm open to any quality production piece that really has a good fresh air source , offers less restriction in the actual plumbing to the turbos and it has to LOOK sharp with proof of power gains .

It sure would be sweet to get a true CAI that extends beyond the initial intake pipe. SwampRat; you'll have this beautiful CAI with your beautiful hotpipes, and stock crap plastic connecting the two. lol

Trying to get my nomenclature straight so help me out. When does an intake pipe become a charge pipe? Post turbos?

I made it by there on Saturday and hung out for a few to talk to the guys and check out the shop. Great guys very knowledegable and they have alot of really cool project cars, and a nice facility.

I asked about the CAI for SwampRat and they said it was out on the SHO with the 87 octane tune was was supposed to bring it back later this week wirh upgraded turbos and exhaust for dyno testing. I don't know how to get a before and after dyno gains for thir CAI.

They asked me about tuning for E85 I told them I'd love to and they mentioned that a Mazda customer had his fuel injectors modified for larger capacity. I have never heard ogf modifying fuel injectors, I alway just replaced them.

Our Bosch injectors are fine for e85, the bottleneck is elsewhere.

Great news 68_GT ..... thats KILLER info on the E85 .
If you can get back please address our concers  as to the heat shield needing to  be redesigned to isolate the Air intake from underhood  engine heat and it needs real flow of outside fresh air to it to keep IAT's as low as possible .

I'll be calling him soon as well , just don't want to push too hard as I appreciate what they are doing for us .

I told them to pass along to the fabricator to extend the intake into the fenderwell to hold the air filter in there. He told me they were aware all of our biggest concerns is IAT's.

Do you know when that other SHO is suppoed to dyno ? I'd like to go see it, but I'll be out of town this coming weekend.

When they talking modding the injectors did they go into specifics? Extruded hone? Replacing the tips/nozzles. Uprgrading to more hole and a different pattern?

Or where they talking top end mods with drive motors, larger resivours ect..

no specifics. They just said others had modified their existing fuel injectors. First I had heard of it.

100% E85 ?
According to Bosch, yes the injectors can but there is more to it than just the injectors. Those injectors max at 2900psi, but ford limits frp on gen 4.1 to 2150. I havent seen any published data about gen 4.2 but i was routinely over 2700 psi at the rail on 93, 2400 at my highest blend of 34% The capacity is definitely there, figuring out how to unlock it is the mystery I'm trying to figure out.

Both logging software programs have verified my observed frp, but just to be sure I want to borrow a data recorder from my friendly neighborhood dealership just to make sure.
