I agree, no thread hi-jack detected here.  Good info / food for thought.

Now talk about your favorite episode of "Dancing with the Stars", I just might have to take issue. lol

I have seen them. What allot of people do not know is that it is voluntary. Just as it's stated in the article. The other thing that people do not know is that you can not be cited for anything wrong with your vehicle ( at least for emission reasons ). I would deny any involvement if they stopped me.

they used to have smog testing stations in st louis, what a drag, but quit about 3 years ago, now just have registered testers, which is just about every gas station. after mine gets tested in jun, thinking about a cut out. want to make sure my guy just does the obd test & not visual. love the way one of my neighbor a couple blocks away who has a vette with them let's me know he coming to pick me up.

I've seen these mobile smog check sites around me but they have all been looking for diesel trucks blowing smoke haha. I'm sure if it sounds custom they will look tho. A highway patrol did pull me over in my fiesta asking to see under the hood because I had exhaust and he wanted to check for anything illegal. I think I just got the cop that was in a bad mood tho.

As an FYI... After doing some research and talking to developers... The cats used are the part that has the CARB number, not the pipes... The cats are bought from a vendor by everyone marketing the pipes and the one's used by EBPP and LMS have CARB numbers and are high flow.... so they should be fine... but I do understand that CA can be a bit unusual.

I was on the PPE website, it shows they are 49 state legal. So, Cali, we are SOL. But again, not like techs look under your car for CARB numbers. But there is the off chance that you get some over zealous Highway Patrolman that could check. But I have rarely heard that happen. They mostly go after street racers with that extra inspection.

here is a link to CARB approved Cats...http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermktcat/exemptcat09.pdf

So hopefully PPE uses one of the approved cats.
