I had a buddy of mine experence an issue with his F-150 with the Ecoboost in it..it was due to it being rainy and humid out...went to pull out onto the highway and didn't have any power and nearly got nailed by a tractor trailer.

TSS.... understand, thought that might be the case... (no pun intended)

SW... The outcome will be interesting to read and hopefully produce information we all should have.  I fear it will likely just be some settlement by Ford without admission or changes and accompanied by a gag order since this is the economical way to deal with this type of suit.
It is an interesting find though....  Please find that IC upgrade we all want.
Think I'll just await the resolution of the lawsuit rather than follow this in-depth since it couldn't help the SHO until something is proven to be wrong... I mean,  all devices which cool air can cause condensation and the ECU protected the turbos, as it should, from ingesting liquids.  Not defending Ford... just saying

This sounds more like the knock sensor wire (issue) hitting the corner of the head/intake causing false knock which the motor goes into protect mode.  Dont see an intercooler causing a power loss unless a pipe comes loose...?  This affected just the tranverse cars I thought?

IC issue reared its' ugly head on the F-150s, no known similar issues with transverse engined brethren.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

You are correct.

I've been a member over at F150forum.com since late 2008 and am all too familiar with the F150's intercooler problem. Though aftermarket IC's seemed to have remedied the problem.
