I can certainly understand your frustration. I've had some disappointing experiences with my local Ford dealers as well. Back in December, I had a TPMS go bad. I scheduled a service appointment with one of the dealerships and they assured me it wouldn't be a problem. An hour or so into the appointment, they pull me from the waiting area and inform me that their "technician" cannot get the car to go into diagnostic mode. They tried to tell me that this was indicative of a faulty security system and that they would have to replace the security module and wiring, which would require removal of the interior. I declined to reschedule and took it to another local dealership. They had no problem diagnosing which sensor was bad. In fact, it only took a few minutes. They didn't have a replacement on hand, so I had to wait on one to be ordered. When the car was finished, I was handed a bill. At this time, the car was still under the factory bumper-to-bumper. They told me the bumper-to-bumper didn't cover the TPMS failure because it was tire-related. Anyway, to make a long story short, the TPMS sensors are absolutely covered under the bumper-to-bumper warranty and Lincoln Service stepped in to take care of the problem. In a few short days, the Ford dealership had a refund check in the mail and Lincoln Service has followed up with me twice to ensure there are no further issues.
