Another classic example of this very true statement!!
Long story short.
I sold my motorcycle, the person hire the cheapest rate shipping company he could find to save money.

This morning shipping company shows up at my storage unit with truck and trailer to pick up..
While pulling into facility( my guess if what happened since I wasn't there)
The driver tries to make a right turn into facility from the center lane and got broad sides by an old explorer with a young girl driving..
s*** happens....... BUT...
The driver didn't speak English, didn't have a US drivers lic and didn't have reg for trailer or insurance for truck...
Now truck trailer and all the bikes loaded are being impounded...

Glad I didn't hire them and they never got my bike(or new owners bike)

It's sad but that's what happens when you are only shopping price...

There is a reason they are cheaper...
Most of the time it's because they are cutting corners with, employees, insurance or quality control..

Tough lesson to learn..
I learned it once and don't want to do that again..

Amen.  We should remember that in all interactions.
It's what we should all remember when we are deciding who to trust our rides to for mods... and why sometimes you just can't bring yourself to trust anyone that much... also why we do and should ask a lot of questions and try to understand.

Glad you didn't lose the bike to them.  I learned the lesson about cheap not being best when I bought a cheap lawn mower and it was never anything but trouble...soon traded it on a Snapper that was self propelled and rear bagger...had that one trouble-free for 12 years until I ran over the steel frame of my hammock....it killed the mower, bend the cranckshaft and twisted the mower deck among other things...so it got replaced with a Honda...no more cheap is better for me!

I try to stick middle of the road cheap is bad but over paying just for a brand doesn't make me happy either. Quality is what sells

As for trucking and shipping you shouod be very careful.. its extremely cutthroat and the cheap guy is almost always not even trying to follow the rules and cutting every corner possibe to make money on a cheap rate
