Another example of FPV.

I wonder how much DNA the Jaguar XF's share with the Aussie Falcons?  Remember they were all under Fords ownership until recently.  The XF's side profile is very similar to the Falcon.  They both have similar drivetrains.  The FPV GT is a supercharged 5.0 as is the Jag XFR, which I assume is using a Ford engine.  I could be wrong?

From an Escape owner with the 2.0L, which uses same platform as Fusion, like kbeck say no way. The 2.0 just verily fits & they had to do some funky stuff like no dipstick for the tranny & have to look up in my manual where they hid the battery, it's not where you would expect it. that said love it & the 2.0 is very quick.

Remember the SHO was until recently "one of a kind!" Being that no other car shared its engine, drivetrain or performance. That being said, no fusion hybrid. Its ugly. This is a Taurus. One of a kind statement car to run with the German full size luxury cars and hold its own very well.

The next iteration as someone said would be to bump HP and performance to match GM twin turbo. The AWD system makes the SHO a winner as it hooks up better than most.

I also agree with making it a little easier for ingress and egress, but still better than a lot of other cars in the same segment. I would definitely consider an AWD 4.0L twin turbo AWD SHO again. My next car, I am still considering the 3.6 twin turbo of the Caddy CTS.

I will have to see where Ford takes their performance AWD cars and compare that to the Caddy V-sport off from the used market. Hopefully the Ecoboost continues to grow in house and gains even more support from the aftermarket.

I second the fact to see where Ford takes the awd platform. I would love to see them produce an sho fusion still. they could increase the dimensions just like they did over the years with the taurus. I mean my sonata is roomy and is considered a large sedan..

I think the new 2.7 ecoboost 4cly would be a sweet option for the fusion and I heard a rumor for a new V8 ecoboost-I'm figuring this might replace the Ford V10. I can see Ford supplying all future lines with the ecoboost engine simply for the power vs fuel economy.

After talking with FORD Marketing guy out at Detroit Auto Show, probably won't see a redesign of the Taurus till '16.  He said since the relaunch of the F150 and Mustang and soon Edge, they need to hold off on something.  Also he hasn't seen and new designs come down the pipe either.  As for the SHO, he couldn't say yes or no, just hope so.  He was impressed on what some have been able to do with the 3.5EB AWD setups in the SHO, Explorer Sport and Flex.  So hope he remembers that in time.

Hopefully they realize all the headroom the 3.5 has to safely offer more OEM performance in all EB engines.

Yep turbos are the future...I do love this platform though have owned all naturally aspirated engines while my friends chose the forced air induction method. That was until I bought first turbo car which was the sonata 2.0t. After seeing what that could do and still maintain an average of 27 miles per gallon I was hooked. Thought it couldn't get better than that until a year later I test drive the sho needless to say the wife's car is the sonata now
