Tow hook

My 13 Xsport has a tow hook just to the left of the left muffler tip. I have seen non Sports and have not seen this tow bracket. Is this on the 14 Sports also as well as any other newer Explorers? Lastly this bracket looks pretty stout so is it safe to pull someone out of a ditch or snow bank?

Ya' it is. I guess Ford doesn't think people tow trailers of-road!?!
