good performance exhaust and still quiet ?

If you are on a budget just do the down pipes.  They appear to be an easy swap out so I'd go with catless and just swap to stock prior to any inspections.  The catback doesn't make sense from a $$/hp perspective, unless you are getting them purely for the sound...but its a V6 and will sound like s*** regardless.  Better audible investment would be a noisy wastegate for that turbo blowoff sound.

I have Catless downpipes, and removed the 3rd cat, and the rest exhaust is stock. Inside the car, it sounds bone stock, outside the car, you can hear the turbos spool a little bit, and when my friend went WOT while driving it for me while I stood in a parking lot, really reminded me a G35. I later went with bigger exhaust tips, but that obviously doesnt change anything. lol

I know... gen around $900,   It's not quiet, but I'm considering having a boost activated exhaust cutout built.  There's some bucks... $400 for the actual valve and about $1200 for the H/(?X?) piping on the duals.  It will have to wait until i pay Santa for Christmas..... but it is way sexy! Here's a video of it working on 4Dr's Flex...

I live in Conroe if you're familiar with that area. I moved down here from Denton in North Texas in 1996 to go to Sam Housto State and stayed down here. I've been to Alvin a few times over the years

Definitely know Conroe... Lived in Pharr (Rio Grande Valley) a while, ... then Denton for a year in '76 and then Kennedale (DFW) for three years before coming to AZ.  miss the seafood on the coast and the clubs in Austin..... Will be back in Austin second week of Jan.  Envy your stomping grounds!

I don't go to Austin anymore lol it's bad luck for me for some reason. Something bad always happens to me there. I used to enjoy parts of it though I commute between Conroe and Houton a few times per week having fun on the autobahns AKA toll roads

how was the added performance with your downpipes / cats delete only ? also what did you put in place of your third cat ? X pipe or straight pipes ?

I sold my G35 to get the SHO but I always loved how my G35 Sedan sounded with a coupe resonator. That VQ sounds soooooo damn good for a 6. It was a decently moded AWD sedan and I raced it against my wife rolling in the SHO while it was stock, and she stepped on my nuts ha ha

I like the performance sound but the wife and I have a agreement that for road trips in put the stock mufflers back on and by ear sound stock. Happiness at home on the road.

I watched a ton of your videos and your SHO definately sounds good. I just don't want to add any or very much at all exhaust sound especially if it doesn't add decent power.

It takes less than 30min to change from stock back DynoMax . So I go quit when ever I need to and quit does not seem to hurt hp.(never dyno with stock muffler and MOD's)
