My friend backed into my front left bumper. it just seemed to break the plastic bumper and pop the led out of the front. I was wondering can i goto a bodyshop to fix this or will they report it to insurance. and also can i get the plastic bumper painted from ford cause i know the titanium white is hard to match.

I don't know if you can get them from Ford.  That would be nice.  They come off and go on pretty easy.

I would imagine, in today's throw away society, it would be easiest to simply replace the entire front clip.

I'm so proficient at removing (and reinstalling) mine, i've got it done to about 12min.

Because IDK the extent of the damage, as I don't see a pic posted, I couldn't recommend replacement, or repair of the existing clip.

The part alone (from Ford) was a couple of hundred. I can look up my receipt & refer you to the same Dealership perhaps, but you may end up with a high shipping cost because of it's sheer size/shape/dimensions.

But either way, you'll want to go to Ford, because the involved prep work on your shop's end, is significantly less, than say if you did a simple search online & ordered it from a crap after market supplier.

As far as reporting it, I can't imagine as long as your paying for it out of pocket, and not filing an insurance claim, the likelihood of reporting same, is about zero.

Good advise from DJE and bpd.  Bummer that it broke. Less work and better outcome to replace with factory.  Here's the link to the Ford catalog page for the SHO... verify your own info before you decide and check for support strut damage etc.

You could also try salvage yards for the part.  If you find a straight one it will be easy to pick.  I did assume you were driving a SHO...

Thank you. I'll do my best to answer any questions you may have.

I did do a "How-To" tutorial write up on the front bumper removal.

Check the "How-To" sections for it. Should help you out with your own removal and subsequent reinstall.

Good luck! :ok:

it would be nice if i could buy a new one and just get the ford collision place at a dealership to spray it. Im almost debating painting the whole car but its a pretty nice paintjob and im sure that would cost alot of money. I want to get better taillights and headlights. Id love some cleaner looking tails. and some HID front ones they dont have them stock in canada i think they are in US.

DJE624

Check my thread regarding New Headlights and Tails.  You can do the Tails with red surround for about $350. shipped  But, the new HID Headlights could run you way over $1000 each side.  The assembly lists at over $550 each and the bulbs and ballasts at around $350 each.  I found better pricing but it was still a lot of dough.

(had to search for HID ballasts)

I looked it up.  Assemblies w/discount are $365, Bulb $240. Ballast $193 Plus a connecting wire $35 So, best price about $833. each side.

I don't get you.  If you mean do the trunk lights with red surround fit, look at my avatar.  They work great, fit perfectly and were pretty easy to do.

no i mean like the left side of the taillights on the trunk do they light up when i break ive noticed there dark when i turn my car on cant tell if they turn on when i break. are they just reflectors. Those look alot better them my chrome chipped ones it pisses me off ford doesnt just give me new ones its an obvious universal defect.

DJE624

Oh. Yeah, that's where the reverse light is. The red is reflector.
