Well...... last night was my 1st night back to work in 3+ weeks after having been sick.
As such, to say today is a "re-adjustment" day, as it pertains to any semblance of a sleep cycle would be an understatement.
Slept like crap this morning, and I decided to make a trek out to the mechanic's shop before this season's 1st snowfall arrives. Looks like a rain/snow/ice mix. Yuck. Seems a little earlier than usual.
Anyhow, made it out there, and shot the sh!t with my pal for a little bit.
He had the front OEM turbo already removed, and the new ATP Upgraded Turbo installed in it's place.
He was working on the rear one when I arrived.
My pal commented that the front OEM turbo appeared "pretty tired" adding that there was oil coming from the main seal and the wheels looked less than desirable.
He said that was likely due to pushing the factory turbos beyond their designed capacities.
Nothing unusual really, just said it was "good" that these upgraded one's were going in their place.
So not wanting to be too much in his way, and knowing I still had to get my butt back home to grab me an afternoon power nap as I'm on shift again tonight, I opted to snap a couple of pics of my own.
My pal did say he took some pics on my behalf.... so I'll have to post those when the install's all completed.
Here's a few images of the factory turbo removed, a couple of the new ATP turbo installed, as well as the incredibly restrictive "hot" (pressurized side) of the piping/plumbing, and one or two of the factory electric BOV's.
Enjoy, now going to back to bed.
