Acceptable offset range for aftermarket wheels?

I found a staggered set of wheels that I really like but the offset isn't the generally accepted 40ish mm.. The fronts are 8.5" wide with a 30mm offset and the rear is 10" wide with a 48mm offset. I could use 1/4" spacers on the rear to push the rears back out to equal the desired 40mm offset (I've ran them before and don't have any issues with it). What I'm more concerned with is the 30mm offset in the front and if the wheel/tire will clear the fender...
Has anyone tried a 30mm offset on the front of a sho?

You'll poke a bit but if you use narrow tires relative to the wheel and show (just barely) some lip, it should work depending on drop.  20 or 22?

I went ahead and placed an order for a staggered set of TSW Nurburgrings today, 20's in 40mm offset. Decided that I might as well get a wheel that is proven to fit and look great rather than have issues with spacers and possibly modifying the wheel to get a good fit.

They are hella light too.  Always a plus.
