Minor dilemma

I have the GH IC and EPP noisemaker delete & intake on their way to me.  I believe the EPP intake is slated to be here Friday.

Here is the dilemma:  I am going to the track early Saturday morning (about 1.5 hours from me), so should I try to slam the intake in Friday after work and risk running into issues and staying up too late and possibly having to revert, or do I just leave it with the K&N drop in and let er buck?

Sounds like it will be a really nice day, about 55 degrees when racing starts, so I'm excited either way!

Personally for me nothing ever goes to plan. I would leave the K&N drop in, however I would install the noisemaker.  Leave the intake for after the track session.  At least you could compare the runs with and without the intake and IC at a later date.

Ha, spot on, that's exactly why I was asking... seems like nothing ever goes to plan with me either!

I was interested to see what the difference would be, but I'm not sure I'm going to get another cool day like this, at least not until Fall.

Ha, I was thinking So Cal because of the song lyric in your profile.

At least if you have to wait until fall, you will have a bunch of time to install the IC and intake.

That's where I figured you picked up on my location, but really it's just a catchy tune from my younger days, and I'm one of those IT nerds that likes to be somewhat cautious with what I throw out on the interwebs.

Everything can and definitely will be used against you... not just in a court of law.   ;D

Leave it for another day IMHO.. besides.. just gives you an excuse to go back to the track :-) And to see if it makes a difference.

WinPlaceSHO

Oh, I will for SURE be going to the track again!

It would be awfully nice if they could open them up in MN.

Definitely go to the track and save the intake for when you are not on a time table. I'd get a log of how your car is running immediately prior to doing it too.

My overconfident side wants you to go for it, install the intake.  But rarely does something go smoothly for myself as well.

I just recently did my brakes.  Forgot my driver side caliper was off and sitting on a bucket when I swapped the front passenger rotors and pads, walked right passed it to push the brake pedal to "snug" up the pads on passenger side...pushing the brake pedal I'm like..huh...should have tightened up...keep pushing...then I remembered..my driver side caliper is off!  I go look, pushed the pistons all the way out and it's sitting in brake fluid on the bucket.  Good one Andrew!  Bought a new caliper, bled the brakes...moved to driver side rear....had the special tool...piston boot looked dry rotted and sort of cracked too...started to turn it in..boot stuck on piston..just turned and cracked even more...so now a new driverside rear caliper.....so I got new calipers on driver side.  Passenger side got the old ones still.  Not horrible but trying to get the ebrake cable off the caliper is a little tricky.

Install the intake after.  Lol!

Oh man, that sucks, although... I'm glad I'm not the only one that forgets.   :)

I will take the advice and go as is, I'm all signed up and ready to go, I just have to get my butt out of bed early so I can get there while the cool dense air is still hanging out!
