I drove both engines a few months ago. Felt strong but both were on AWD platforms.
I am not sure I would actually take the plunge to get a FWD vehicle with that much power due to torque steer but I truly do loathe the PTU Ford makes. lol

I put around 75,000 miles on my MKS and it must have had at least 100 trips down the quarter mile. PTU never gave me any trouble at all. I simply changed the lube in it annually.

They are plenty strong and I not seen a PTU break due to being over powered. They fail because of heat. The heat kills the fluid, once thermal break down occurs, bearings do not get lube and they fail. Once that happens....done.
