I do like seeing what internals of things like this look like. Exciting to watch something like this come together one step at a time. As they say, good things come to those who wait (or something like that).

Spoke directly with Dakota Bowman, in the tech dept. over @ Deatschwerks and confirmed the fitment of the following upgraded LPFP. Ordered same today.

https://www.deatschwerks.com/9-307-1026

Also hit up Matt @ Gearhead today, and learned that my pending order for their company's upgraded TC is in progress now. Hopefully shipping out by week's end.

Also, had my transmission palleted up, strapped down, and loaded up for freight delivery to a vendor in MI. for reworking/upgrading. Deposit placed and more details to follow as those develop.

Finally, also spoke to machine shop owner performing my motor rebuild, and asked on any progress since our last communication. He replied that he is currently working on the porting and polishing of the heads. Informed me that the couple of ports that he has touched, are now flowing 20cfm's greater than stock, throughout the entire range.

So given the factory design is already fairly decent to begin with, this improvement will enhance and contribute to overall performance. Just another piece of the puzzle.

Still waiting on porn pics. Hopefully soon!

I am VERY curious if with better connecting rods, piston caps and better flowing ports if you can get above the all mighty 6300/6400 rpm limit where the stock systems fall in their faces.

09/20/19.......

Received the new, upgraded TC from GH. It's a 3 bolt design, which is most common.

I sent in a core that had a 4 bolt design, which was/is used on the 2010 "Job 1" builds as well as the majority of the 2010 "Job 2" builds.

No biggie really. It simply requires a change in the flywheel.

There's no (performance) difference between a 4 bolt, versus 3, and vice versa.

Anyhow, looking forward to the inclusion of another piece of the puzzle and kudos to Matt over at GH for bringing this aspect of improvement to the platform.

Oh yea, and the black paint is a nice finishing touch. Not that I, or anyone else will see it once installed mind you. But for those like me in the rust belt and winter season, it's a nice added touch to what I expect will be a great product.

DW LPFP, and the DW Injectors still in the shipping process. Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Continuing along with ancillary part upgrades.

Ordered this today.......

https://unleashedtuning.com/bbk-sho-throttle-body/

Once it arrives, gonna bring it on over to the machine shop to have them port match and polish to the intake plenum.

Another piece of the overall puzzle positioned into the picture.

Just thought to share. Oh, and btw, thank you to each/all of you for the positive comments and suggestions posted thus far.

Helps keep me motivated, all the while continuing to distance myself from past, poor experiences. Thank you all!

That BBK throttle body looks like a must have.  Anyone on here have one already?  I want to say I've seen this on their site a while ago when I browsed but I don't think I've ever heard someone talk about having it and the results.

10/01/19.....

Placed my order for a new set of PPE DP's over this past weekend.

Once they're done w/ production, they'll be drop shipping them over to JET-HOT, where a 2500 degree ceramic coating in bright white will be applied. Then once JET-HOT's done, they'll be shipped to me.

Big thanks to the Prentis brothers, Paul and Eric for their involvement in this rebuild. I look forward to their talents being applied respectively.

Also, thanks to Ashley B. over at JET-HOT for their involvement as well.

More pieces of the puzzle my friends!

Good choice on downpipes!
You and Mike B. were quite convincing in speaking highly of their products.

I like that it's a family business. Brother owned and operated. A big plus in my opinion.

They've been great thus far!

Custom set?  IIRC you have custom 3" catless to custom 3" exhaust.  Not downsizing to 2.5" or?  That thermal coating is awesome!  Something I need to do eventually.  Better than any wrap.

My current DP's were/are the literal very 1st set ever fab'd for the platform.

Made by Kirk Doucette owner of the now defunct NESHO (Northeast SHO) as well as former past National SHO Club President.

They're definitely not 3", and as I mentioned to the Prentis brothers, I'm sure there's been quite a bit of improvement in the 9yrs that have past, since my original's were made.

As far as the JET-HOT Coating, I'm hopeful it turns out as good as to be claimed. I'll find out eventually, ha!

10/02/19.....

Stopped by the machine shop today. Essentially just to drop off the bigger TB from BBK and to say hi and shoot the $h!t for a few minutes.

The owner has begun the port matching and polishing of the intake.

Said he noticed an inordinate amount of casting marks, blemishes and imperfections from the factory. He suggested porting and polishing the ENTIRE inside of the intake, which would require cutting it open, in order to gain unfettered access as needed.

He'll weld it back together afterwards, then send it off for powder coating.

A few before and in progress pics for y'all to ogle.

Makes me wonder what kind of gains one could get out of fabbing up tubular type intake like the old 5.0s had

You're so far in you might as well go all the way.  History in the making build.

Ha. Kind of my mindset at this point. Like "F*** It, I've come this far, might as well".

Although I don't necessarily know if this is the mod that pushes it over the proverbial edge exclusively. Rather just another in a collection of them factored into an overall build.
