No. Running E85 would allow more timing which is not available with the stock system.
I'm going to disagree with this.

I'm seeing timing advance of 26 degrees at WOT in 1st gear.

I am also running 4/10 ths quicker on the corn.

13.70 @ 102.70
VS
13.31 @ 105.26

Torque indicated a peak increase of about 40 HP.

Seems to line up pretty well with my before and after times.

Just wondering, in our Explorer Sport there is no boost gauge.  I wonder how much boost is run at wide open throttle?  Thanks.

If you are interetsed in this on an ongoing basis, like I am, you might want to check out the Aeroforce Interceptor thread on here. Nice easy plug and play boost gauge. Sold in the store here too.

Thanks!  I bought my 87 Turbo Regal new and the first thing I did was put in a good boost gauge.  I run 21 lbs psi boost on the street on 93 octane gas with that car now.

You didn't like the Video game light bar boost gauge in the Regal?

Mine is worse than that. It has a digital dash with an 85 mph speedometer and just a red light that lights up when the car is in boost.

The new Explorer Sport reminds me a lot of when I bought the Regal new. I was going to leave it stock and now 27 years later it has ported aluminum heads, a bigger turbo, injectors and intercooler, a roller cam, a built balanced and blueprinted motor and a methanol injection system. There is no cure for a need for speed :)

Your still on a stock tune? I am guessing that once you up the boost, your going to run out of fuel real quick.

That's where a upgrade fuel pump would benefit significantly being able to run E85 with a tune.

Not tuned and Torrie seems to think 30 percent is about the max tuned. I am fine with that as I don't need a 10  second car at this point. Depending on what goes on with the next car purchase that may change.

FOMOCO when are you going to grow up and get a tune...?  :)

When I last checked 12.9 tune only (1500 elevation and 2000 DA) is still better than 13.3 with E85.  LOL

Haha, I've had catted downpipes sitting in my basement for 2 months and still haven't installed them.

I guess I lack motivation because I still enjoy the hell out of the car in stock form.
