It's about time to replace the eagle f1 supercar tires. I like the grip of a summer tire and since I live in Florida, I can have it all year. However, the F1s haven't lasted very long for me. Maybe 30k miles. Is there another tire that has the great grip of this tire but last a little longer?

Hell, mine lasted 16k miles. I would jump over backwards if I could get 30k out of a summer tire like the F1.

LOL,  this ^

They were under 150/e on tire rack last I checked,  maybe even with a rebate.   Not going to find anything as good for the price.

Just looked. They are like $145. Every thing else is about $250. Any good alternatives?

They are a way better tire, and they were on sale not too long ago. They were $800 installed for a set of 4 in the stock size around these parts.

Damn, wish I had gotten mine for that cost, I was close to $1400 although that included new TPMS sensors too.

HI jtoddk98, Here are something about tire. 1) Nobody has got good mileage out of the F1's. 2) The F1's are not the GREATEST are the track tire ether. 3) I have this SHO (had a 93 SHO) 4 yrs and had 3 different brand of tires on the car 4)If you hit/bump the front wheels have the aliment check electronic steering will not let you know it out aliment. A 100-200ml and summer tires will wear out bad. 5) Tire CO. are like electronic/phone co. all trying to sale you the next best/greatest model. 5 yrs ago 2009 I 1st look at buying the SHO the F1's were $400 each, but now they can be had for $100-150 each. I had some Falken's for $230 Now only $98. Tire co. phase-out summer about every 6yrs or so and like the Ipod 2 going from $400 now it's $100 until they are gone but the NEW Ipod 5 is NOW $400.LOL

Have said all that I have NEXEN N3000. I have a friend own a tire shop who sold them to me for day-day driving and I like them 35kmi so I have them as my track tires to. They are better than the F1's all around wear 200vs330, speed rate, traction and so on. He sold the DD 245x45x20(2yr ago) $190, 1.5yr ago Tracks tire on-line 275x40x20 $150 (being phase-out he could not get them)

NOW YOU CAN GET THEM FOR $107
http://www.tirebuyer.com/tires/nexen/n3000/p/tv181000007?cid=sce_google&CAWELAID=463656769&CAGPSPN=pla&catargetid=330004830000192392&cadevice=c&gclid=CjwKEAjw9eyeBRCqxc_b-LD8kTESJADsBMxSm7GertgKb7VBkknr8Fl6eP50aRA4p9qtSghnl4C_jBoCwm3w_wcB

You may not want N3000 but look at all the older Summer tire Model they will be phasing out for the new model sooner or later. Just My 2 cent.

Day-Day (now have 35kml w/ 1/4 wear left)

How is the tread life in the super sports? Currently on tire rack they are $277 vs $145 for the Eagles.

I have heard they are a bit better in terms or tread life, that said performance is not even close, we put them on a my friends Trailblazer SS and what a difference. He was coming from a set of BFG comps. I will be putting them on mine next spring. Just look at the reviews, the Pilot SS are pretty much the top of all summer tires.

Just something that seems to need pointing out here, treadware ratings are meaningless when comparing between different manufacturers. Tire Rack explains why here. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=48
